location is fantastic and it is in the heart of the city, whether you want to go to the historical centre or to the shopping area. I didn't think breakfast was anything special. Scarce and fruit was not changed every day. mattresses were very...

beds were very comfortable, location excellent with a car park right in front (paid, 13 euros/day) so you don't have to touch the car all weekend and breakfast quite complete. Although if you have any intolerance,...

The food was fresh and there were a good choice of dishes on the menu. The hotel had a central position really close to the beautiful bakery around the corner, bus station from the airport, and the center of the town.

the facilities are very good.
My personal experience, with regard to the cleanliness of the rooms, while it seems that they were clean, was not. Room 401 of the HOTEL UNIVERSAL was not supposed to be clean enough, since during my stay last Tuesday night, February 12, 2019, I was pecked by bedbugs, whose reactions I noticed during Wednesday, February 13, 2019, when I was no longer in Santiago de Compostela. I give importance to this matter because last night I had to go to the Emergency Room to get an injection of Cortisone to relieve the itching caused by these BUG bites. My aim, with this comment, is to make the management of the HOTEL UNIVERSAL of Santiago de Compostela pay more attention to the cleaning of the rooms, as well as to make sure that another client of the HOTEL UNIVERSAL does not suffer what I have suffered.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, recommendable. The total stay was GOOD for a night. The location was particularly good and perfect, at a moderate distance from a Roman Catholic cathedral. It was located in a modern area close enough to the center of Santiago and historic district and train station.

The professionalism of the reception. Always polite and correct in the treatment.. Easy to leave your luggage at the reception after 12.00h if it's not yet time to go to the airport. The location is perfect, right on the edge of the old town but very close to everything main. . Have at the door of the hotel the bus stop that brings you and takes you to the airport . Close to supermarkets.. Silence in the corridors.. Good soundproofing of the outside with the windows that can be opened. That the curtains were double, one with a translucent curtain and another opaque to not allow the entrance of outside light. Quality - price more than good.
Under the bed lint. But the rest is clean. Small details that can be improved with minimal investment. The plastic toilet paper basket with the broken lid. The. toilet door squeaks.. That you can't regulate the heating yourself.. Perhaps the use of blankets instead of duvets which weigh much less and are more comfortable for me.

The location is perfect! Right in front of the hotel is the bus stop that takes you to the airport and other parts of Santiago. Also, on the same corner is the taxi stand with very reasonable prices. Across the street is the old part of Santiago with all its restaurants and shops. The cathedral is a 10 minute walk away, but it seems less. The breakfast is not very varied, it's just to solve if you have to leave early for somewhere since most of the places around open at 9am. The bed is comfortable, we had a spectacular view of the square in front of us and you can see the sunrise. It is a small and simple hotel, but with all the necessary amenities. In the room there is no mini fridge to keep things cold.
Breakfast might be better with a little more variety.

My twin room was high quality and spacious with a "rainfall" shower. I appreciated the central heating, work desk, and TV in the room.- The location was fabulous, close to the old quarter.- The staff at Hotel Universal was very nice.

A very well situated hotel close to all points of interest as well as the railway station and airport bus stop.
There was a lot of noise in the square during the night causing interrupted sleep. A room at the front would probably not be recommended.
